romney may or may not propose? >> joel, from your state perspective, karen talking about words do matter srks that a big part of today's foreign policy address, avoiding land mines, pitfalls in his wording? >> words do matter and the international community is confused by governor romney and the foreign policy. the shifting back and forth on issues such as libya, to egypt. very confusing for foreign leaders to gauge where he is and the american people also will want to hear about veterans in this speech unlike the republican convention and understand where will the $2 trillion in extra defense spending come from? >> general, isn't that a big distinction, too? because what's being done for our vets comes from a different budget than what's spent for defense. >> well, i think there's normally a view to support the veterans administration, secretary shinseki's concerns of ptsd and reintegrating the afghanistan and iraq veterans. the big question for romney is upping naval ship construction dramatically, restoring the cuts proposed by the obama team, marine and army ground combat powe

romney down at least in nine recent swing state polls. most regard wednesday's debate at his last best chance to win over voters. how is his message or perhaps even his tone. how is it going to be different wednesday than what we've seen and heard so far? >> look, i mean i think he's going to get a chance to speak directly to voters. he's going to talk about this is a clear choice in this election. do people want a romney/ryan ticket that is going to look to create prosperity and jobs and upward mobility for americans? or do they want more of the past four years that they have seen, which hasn't been very bright and it's been obama's failed economic policies that haven't been working. so i think this is great opportunity for governor romney to outline his plans. i don't think wednesday is a make-or-break night. i think he'll do great and i think you'll see the numbers in the polls tighten. >> i want to call your attention to some critics of the campaign on the right and the left. on fox news this morning, chris wallace pressed paul ryan for specifics on how a president romney woul

the changing laws of the voter i.d. laws in those states as well. >> toby, what's the romney campaign strategy to reach asian american voters and how does it care to the obama campaign strategy. how can the campaigns do a better job, in your view? >> certainly the romney campaign is going back to its argument that top-end tax cuts will help business owners, specifically. but if you look at the engagement that's happening on president obama's campaign, it's very fascinating. it's been focused at the neighborhood level, probably at an unusually early part of the cycle, they started doing the field operations. they're also organizing online, through a digital dashboard. so that these constituents can organize themselves. and that's probably the most interesting thing about this election cycle. you're seeing a new generation of candidates from within the community starting to challenge the debate in the country. you're starting to see activists who are actually forcing changes that wouldn't otherwise happen. and it's that organization at the ground that's going to make the bigges
